Pantries Need FoodRemember the first Sunday of the month is the time to bring food for Chester Eastside Ministries Food pantry and on the third Sundays, we help to support Boy Scout Troop #85 with their collection for the Media Food Bank. But you can bring in non-perishable items any time and they will get distributed locally to help our neighbors in our community.College Students ContactsThe Adult Ministries Team is looking for volunteers willing to be a friend to our college students by keeping in contact with them while they are away, and offer them support and care from the church family. Keep-In-Touch (KIT) The purpose of KIT is to maintain the church connection with our college students, to pray for them, to provide support and encouragement for them. We still need a few volunteers willing to be a friend and official contact with our college students. If you are interested, please talk to Kent Thompson or indicate your interest on the participation sheet in the Sunday bulletin.Cookie Walk News It doesn't seem possible that in a few short weeks we will begin baking for the December Cookie Walk. We will need people to make 10 dozen cookies that we will sell on December 13th with the proceeds going to help fund Children's programs here at Middletown. Adopt-A-Child or Family You have the opportunity to “adopt” a child or family for the holidays. You will be given a list of the children’s ages and suggested toys and clothing sizes for each (approx. $35-50 for each child). Then wrap the gifts, put a gift tag with the child’s name and their family number on it, and bring them to the church library, so they can be delivered. The deadline for gifts is Saturday, December 13. If you are interested in adopting a family, please contact the church office by Sunday, November 16 to receive information about your adopted family. You can also contribute money to support a family. Volunteer at CityTeam to help sort and pack toys for children. Also, there is need to help deliver toys to families in need on Saturday, December 20 at 9 am.Operation Christmas Child , a mission project of Samaritan’s Purse. You may participate by bringing shoeboxes filled with items to the church narthex and by providing $7.00 per box for shipping. Your check can be made out to Samaritan’s Purse. We will be putting together these boxes during Adventure Club and our boxes ship out around November 15 to a needy child in a troubled country. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to share in the joy and hope this Christmas! This year, you may begin bringing in gifts on Sunday, November 30 through Sunday, December 14. Please bring in your unwrapped items and place them in the Narthex. They will be delivered in mid-December. Suggested items: Board Games, Play dough, Art supplies, Books, Hair accessories, Puzzles, Infant toys, Blocks, Stuffed Animals, Photo albums, Picture frames, Dolls (of all ethnic types), Kids video movies, small games, Watches, Balls, Frisbees, Baseball caps, Legos, Trucks/cars, Gloves/scarf sets.
